Palombaggia, one of the most iconic beaches of Corsica

Palombaggia beach is located in the southeastern part of Corsica, about 7 miles southeast of the city of Porto-Vecchio. It is famous for its fine white sand, crystal-clear waters, and the picturesque maritime pines and junipers that surround it. It is no coincidence that it has been classified by UNESCO as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and is often praised in travel guides for its paradisiacal appearance.

The beauty of Palombaggia goes beyond sand and sea. This stretch of fine sand boasts beautiful pink granite rocks, adding yet another touch of color that makes the scenery even more enchanting. It is framed by lush vegetation that provides shade and a fantastic contrast to the coastal landscape. The coastline stretches for about 2 miles and offers a series of restaurants and bars where you can enjoy local specialties, ideal for a meal or a refreshing drink with a view of the sea. Furthermore, along the beach, you can rent equipment for water sports such as snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The beaches are also equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas are also available for those who wish to relax comfortably in the sun.

Plage de Palombaggia is easily accessible by car from Porto-Vecchio. During the summer months, it is advisable to arrive early to find parking, as the beach is always very crowded. Despite its popularity, the beach still manages to maintain a serene and welcoming atmosphere, especially in the early morning hours and during the low season. The sunset at Palombaggia is alone worth a visit – an ideal time to take a photo and capture the colors of a landscape that turns shades of orange, pink, and purple.
