Skadar Lake, a natural beauty of the Balkans

Lake Skadar is the largest lake in the Balkan Peninsula as well as the largest bird reserve in Europe. This gorgeous lake is located between the border of Montenegro and Albania with two thirds of the lake belonging to Montenegro territory, and the rest to Albania. This natural wonder is fed by many rivers and springs, and reaches a depth of 60 meters and a length of 25 miles. The water level varies according to the season and reaches a maximum surface area of 200 square miles.
