The Flower Festival of Noto, a triumph of scents and colors in the Baroque capital

Among the flowers used are lilies, daisies, carnations, roses, tulips, mimosa, and various twigs, leaves, and stems, as well as rice, bran, and legumes. The roots of the Infiorata date back to the 17th century when the local nobility adorned the streets to welcome the arrival of the bishop in the city. However, the event as we know it today began in 1980 when a group of artists and enthusiasts decided to revive this centuries-old tradition. The first modern Infiorata was held along Via Corrado Nicolaci, now the beating heart of the splendid creations, and was an immediate success.
